Welcome
to Rustic Lodge Alpacas and thank you for visiting our
site. 'RLA' is a family operated Alpaca Farm, which
is run by Allan Seagrave and his Wife Rebecka and their
4 children.
 |
Our
two youngest daughters are smitten with Alpacas
and are very involved in the care of our animals.
We have a family competition when it comes to cria
due dates and everyone gets to have their say on
what sex, breed and colour the next cria will be
from any given mating. What's the prize you ask?
You get to name the cria (with some guidelines
in place). Unfortunately/fortunately our youngest
has won a few in recent times, hence the naming
of Princess Buttercup and Prince Caspian ;-)
We
fell in love with Alpaca's in 2004. They are so
very unique, we love that they are a completely
foreign animal to Australia. Each with their own
personality. They make us smile when we see them
out in the paddocks. It's especially
enjoyable to watch new cria's that we have successfully
bred here bouncing around in the paddock just on
dusk. |
Our
goal is to produce gorgeous grey and black Suri and
Huacaya's with excellent confirmation and whose fleece
has low micron with a fine handle and then dense fleece.
We also love all of the other colours of fleece that
these beautiful animals produce, including browns, fawns,
roans & whites but our main breeding focus is definitely
on grey Alpaca breeding.
We are located just under 2 hours drive North of Brisbane
or 45 minutes North of the beautiful Sunshine Coast
in the Gold Mining town of Gympie, Queensland, Australia.
Our gently sloping 6 acre farm is located centrally
to town and we have a large dam and the back of the
farm is lined by a permanent creek.
